• Ph.D. in History, University of California, Berkeley
Dylan has 13 years of experience teaching social studies in independent schools at both the middle and high school levels. While earning his Ph.D., Dylan also taught sections of undergraduate history courses. In addition to teaching at Judge Memorial, Dylan is an adjunct history professor at Salt Lake Community College.
In the classroom, Dylan uses a range of technology tools as well as a blend of Socratic discussion and group work to support student learning. A driving goal of Dylan's is to help students develop a better understanding of themselves as learners. He is a strong supporter of a growth mindset among his students and focuses on the importance of self-discipline and consistency for student success.
Outside of school, Dylan enjoys spending time with his daughters Mary and Estella. He is an avid reader and enjoys swimming, biking, skiing, and running. Ever interested in learning, Dylan also enjoys learning languages and is even learning the guitar — though he is a far cry from Bob Dylan, the musician after whom his parents named him.
