John Barron
John Barron joined the Judge Memorial faculty in the 2020-21 school year. Born and raised a proud card-carrying, Springsteen-loving, no-gas-pumping Jersey boy, he attended Catholic schools his whole life and earned his BA in Catholic Theology from the Immaculate Conception Seminary School of Theology at Seton Hall University. Following graduation, he moved to St. Petersburg, Florida, where he served for six years at the Cathedral of St. Jude the Apostle as Director of Youth Ministry for middle school and high school teens, before moving to Utah in the fall of 2018. Mr. Barron is married to his college sweetheart and fellow Judge Theology teacher, Mrs. Barron, and they have two children together.
In his spare time, Mr. Barron enjoys watching and talking about sports. He is an avid and long-suffering fan of the New York Mets and Seton Hall basketball, and also supports the New Jersey Devils, New York Jets, and Utah football (no, college football really doesn't matter at all back east). Mr. Barron also enjoys long car trips and being outside as much as possible (though he does miss the beach and even humidity occasionally), old churches, and often falls down the Netflix rabbit hole. Mr. Barron believes he was put on this earth to be a “tour guide”, and hopes to be the kind of teacher who leads young people in the direction they are called to go.
