Teya Sidberry Scores 56 Points, Sets State Record for Single Game

On a still Saturday afternoon January 22, Teya Sidberry erupted for 56, scoring the most points by any female in Utah history during a lopsided home win against Providence Hall. The small forward, who averages 33.6 points per game, remains poised to become Utah’s all time high school basketball scoring leader this season — not just for 3A but across all classifications — and not just for Girls Basketball but for girls and boys.

Sidberry needs to reach 2,385 points to claim the record that was established between 1990-94. She is on pace to break the mark before the postseason begins. Sidberry is also on track to eclipse 1,000 rebounds, which will make her 2nd all time in the state for rebounding for girls and boys.

“She’s such an incredible kid and I just love her willingness to be better,” says Head Coach Josh Pike. “When she came in she said she wanted to leave the program better than she found it. She has definitely done that.”

Sidberry has signed a letter of intent to play Division 1 basketball next fall at The University of Utah.
