At the Football Dance, Lynne Brown was crowned “Miss Pigskin,” a selection made in a vote by St. Mary’s girls. Senior Patricia Smith was her first attendant and junior Mary Brennan was second attendant. Judge boys selected John Ravarino as Mr. Football. He was backed by senior Alan Crandall and junior Mike Sandor.

St. Mary’s shed a collective tear for Sr. Teresa Clare, who died during the year at age 64.
Madelyn Garrett was the prefect overseeing the spiritual organization Sodality, assisted by vice prefect Margaret Spencer, secretary Carole Shubert, treasurer Patricia Buckley and committee chairwomen Paula Kreilkamp, Rebecca Wilcox, Patricia Puls, Marie Antonucci, Judith Duffurrena, Anne Denson and Linda Latimer. The Teleview newspaper, which achieved “All Catholic” status in 1964, was edited by Annette Dalpiaz. Staff members included Lynne Brown, Madelyn Garrett, Margaret Spencer, Jolynne Smith, Patricia Puls, Shannon Sullivan, Kathleen Wood, Trudy Gourley, Kathleen O’Hara, Patricia Terry, Teri Voelker, Linda Sims, Annette Jarrell, Jeanne Colbert and Mary Glahe. Sr. Ann Veronica was their moderator.
Lynne Brown was editor of the Marycrest yearbook, whose production was overseen by Sr. Ann Veronica. Making up the staff were Cynthia Nielsen, Kathleen McChrystal, Margaret Spencer, Judith Jelaca, Patricia Buckley, Teri Voelker, Patricia Whelan, Patricia Puls and Kathleen O’Hara.
Several St. Mary’s girls participated in the third annual Christmas Talent Show and Pageant, staged at Judge by Fr. Thomas O’Neill. John Ravarino played Santa Claus and Margaret Aloia was Mrs. Claus. Fifteen acts were scheduled. After two songs by the Glee Club, Michael Beck narrated a “reverential and inspiring” pageant that featured Marcia Messina as Mary, John Thompson as Joseph and Robinne Crandall as the angel. The shepherds were Edwin Rudman, Patrick Hurley, Jolynne Smith, Lawrence Hays, Kathleen Potter, Jo Lynn Smith and Martha Fritz. The wise men were Arthur Hudachko, LaMar Jefferson and Gregory Kelsey.
The Future Nurses club volunteered time at St. Joseph’s Villa. The organization was led by president Linda Hart, vice president Catherine Riley, secretary Estelle De Anda and treasurer Michele Casari. Members included Joanne Mayo, Mary Yadeskie, Veronica Hachquet, Jodi Mayne, Robin Brazelton, Judith Duffurrena, Jolynne Smith, Antonietta Arnone, Rebecca Wilcox, Mary Brady, Ruth Holtshouser, Mary Frowein, Constance Gaitin, Sheila Thompson, Dianne Coltharp, Nirene Ther, Judy Kind, Arda Garcia and Kathleen Miller. Featured singers were Linda Burt, Kathleen Kimball, Cecilia Archuleta, Kathleen Swan, Jo Beth Wesley, Connie Mellen, Victoria Bernardo, Estelle De Anda, Elizabeth White, Linda Regner, Sheila Thompson, Donna Martin, Patricia Williams, Nancy Van House, Leanne McDonald, Evelyn Cook, Rebecca Wilcox, Annette Dalpiaz, Carole Shubert, Stephanie Tabish, Susan Ford, Kathleen Gini, Mardi O’Shaughnessy, Helene Sharp, Irene Goicoechea, Anne Denson and Judith Duffurrena.
The Spring Concert by the Glee Clubs of Judge and St. Mary’s featured two performances reflecting “the current folk song rage.” St. Mary’s folksingers Paula Kreilkamp and Kathleen Rafferty followed a performance of “Go Tell It On the Mountain” by Judge singers Larry Hecht, Brian Higham, Joe Lahey, Dan Mates and Craig Mole. Kathleen Swan, Karen Kuemmerle, Mary McAdoo and JoAnn Mascaro had solos. The boys Glee Club was directed by Brother James Dorazio. Sr. Donna Marie directed the girls Glee Club and gave a paper, “Evidence of some Christian Principles Found in the Spirituals of the American Negro of the Slave Era,” with her Glee Club singing parts of several spirituals.
Making up the Orchestra were Mary Brady, Victoria Nielsen, Irene Goicoechea, Anne Denson, Theresa Bogle, Kathleen Dicks, Lynne Brown, Michele Casari, Sheila Thompson, Helene Sharp, Linda Latimer, Mary Brennan, Mary Yadeskie and Teri Voelker.
The Drama Club featured Frances Yanni, Mary Sweet, Dorothy Yarbrough, Mary Brady, Victoria Palacios, Caroline Heenan, Marie Antonucci, Janice Brown, Margaret Aloia, Gail Pierce and Elizabeth Cotterell.
Jolynne Smith was Miss Saint Mary’s for 1964-65, crowned at the Senior Prom, with attendants Rosanne Crus and Cheri Morin. The prom was held in the Lafayette Ballroom at the Hotel Utah, with the theme “Under Paris Skies.” John Peters was the king, attended by Mike Bruce and John Thompson. The event was organized by Cheri Morin and Paul Purcell.

“Ladies in Waiting,” starring Nancy Goick, Victoria Palacios, Susan Cafarelli, Rosanne Crus, Marie Antonucci, Caroline Heenan, Pamela Hill, Darlene Graven and Catherine Colby.
“The Campbells Are Coming,” at Judge, directed by Fr. Thomas O’Neill, starring Maureen Duffy, Larry Hecht, Dorothy Yarbrough, Frances Yanni, Steve Dudley, Don Jensen, Elizabeth Cotterell, Mike Bruce, Bob Crowder and Margaret Aloia. The Stage Crew consisted of Randy Stack, Dan Cook, Doug Kelsey, Dick Fassio, Roger Dannels, John Lyons, Ron Lilley, Mike Green, Dick Meyer, Jim Summers and Bob Devlin.
Sports
The Lasers basketball team played in Salt Lake County Recreation’s Intramural Church League, posting a 6-0 record. Players included Mary Praught, Linda Hart, Estelle De Anda, Victoria Nielsen, Linda Latimer, Jo Beth Wesley, Mary McAdoo, Elizbeth Stevens, Ann Quigley and Helene Sharp.
St. Mary’s Ski Club was made up of Jolynne Smith, Nancy Anderson and Barbara Harlin.
